Swim Lessons

Level 1 and Level 2

Participant ages can start at 12 months of age. 

The class is setup to include eight, 30 minute lessons- Monday thru Thursday.

Level 1 and 2 classes allow for an introduction to strong swimming ability by reinforcing the basics of swimming. Students are introduced to the correct form and technique to enhance skill development. Other benefits include:

  • Increased comfort in the water and zero-gravity aquatic environment 
  • Improved gross and visual motor skills 
  • Significant health benefits including improved strength and flexibility, increased stamina, and improved balance and posture
  • Enhanced verbal communication and more confidence in social situations
  • Considerable decrease in drowning risk

Level 1 classes promote skill advancement in the following areas:

  • Blowing bubbles 
  • Face underwater 
  • Kick on the kick board
  • Float on the back (with help)
  • Swim out to instructor

Level 2 classes promote skill advancement in the following areas:

  • Swim out to instructor 
  • Come up for air
  • Float on back 
  • Introduction to backstroke

Level 3 and Level 4

The class is setup to include eight, 30 minute lessons- Monday thru Thursday. 

Level 3 and 4 classes aim to reinforce the skills learned and provide the next step towards becoming a more proficient swimmer. Any skill is mastered with practice, repetition, and continued instruction. Other benefits include: 

  • Significant increase in strength and stamina in the water 
  • Increased confidence as proficiency develops 
  • Improved muscle memory to help each child focus on adding new strokes, techniques, and speed while maintaining form 
  • Enchanted social development as children interact with other swimmers and their instructor in an environment that is motivating and encouraging
  • Better memory, more alertness, and improved cognitive function overall

Level 3 classes promote skill advancement to complete the following objectives:

  • Swim 10 yards of freestyle with controlled side breathing
  • Backstoke 5 yards unassisted 
  • Introduction to breaststroke
  • Introduction to butterfly

Level 4 classes promote skill advancement to complete the following objectives:

  • Swim 10 yards with each of the following stroke: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly
  • Controlled breathing for all strokes
  • Flip turn
